About this experience

What to Expect
Tracing the pirates in Omis
From Split, we will drive to the hill of Gradac, 353 meters high. From here, you will see the magical town of Omis, located at the mouth of the Cetina River, the island of Brac, and behind you - the mountains of the ancient Republic of Poljica. You will also visit the historical site where the prince was chosen and took the oath.
Walking through the narrow streets of the fairytale Omis, we will explore the old part of the city. You will walk through the cozy quarters of the 12-13th centuries, visit the churches of St. Michael and St. Spirit, and then admire the delightful panorama of all Omis by climbing the walls of the ancient Mirabella fortress. Along the way, we will talk about the exciting pirate past of the city. You will understand why Croatian pirates chose Omis in the Middle Ages, learn what ancient pirate ships looked like. And most importantly - feel the spirit of adventures and excitement that has been preserved even hundreds of years later!
Cetina Canyon and Croatian cuisine
From the city, we will head to its picturesque surroundings: you will see the landscapes of the mouth of the Cetina River, which ends its path in the rocky canyon and flows into the Adriatic Sea. The most beautiful part of the tour: the opportunity to ride a motorboat on the Cetina River. Sailing on the river is an unforgettable fairy-tale experience in which nature reveals all its beauty to you. You will visit the filming locations of the film about Winnetou, observe the floating boats, see how the water sparkles in the sunlight.
And if you want to have a snack, I will show you where you can taste the delicious pashtitsada (marinated beef with dumplings) or the traditional Dalmatian dish of soparnik (vegetable pie) - with a glass of red homemade wine from Dalmatia.
