About this experience
I will introduce you to the ancient cities of the Bay of Kotor — the homeland of captains, astronomers, and sailors. We will stroll through the winding streets and visit the mystical island of Gospa-od-Shkrpela, which holds many Christian relics. The atmosphere will be complemented by lunch at an oyster farm, where you will taste traditional dishes of the local cuisine.
What to expect
Sunlit Perast
We will visit the city that stretches along the waterfront like a cat in the sun. The sheer cliff does not allow Perast to grow inward, so the houses in Venetian baroque style follow a slender line along the edge of the bay. On the way to the monuments of three legendary residents, I will tell you about the twelve families who ruled the town, their palaces, and their active participation in the formation of Peter I's naval fleet.
Our Lady of the Rocks Island
The boat will take us to the artificial island, manually built by the locals over a hundred years. You will learn the mystical history of the church's establishment and see the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, the Italian marble altar, and the personalized silver plates of sailors. In the church museum, we will find attributes of their lives: pendants, medals, parts of ships, and examine the world-famous canvas embroidered with human hair.
Upon return from the island, we will visit the village of Riza to an oyster farm. Here you can kayak, enjoy homemade white wine, and taste fresh oysters, mussels, sea bream, or sea bass, caught and prepared in front of you on the grill.
Evening lights of Kotor
As dusk descends, the fortress wall of Kotor and each building will be illuminated with cozy lighting. Through the squares of Oruzje, Salad, and Muke, we will walk to the Church of St. Luke. In the church of St. Ozana, I will show you a painting dedicated to the local
