About this experience
In Alanya, like in other places, there is its Old Town. The former capital of ancient Pamphylia, the summer residence of sultans, and a refuge for medieval pirates - that's how many centuries are mixed here! For many years, I have studied the history of these places - from Byzantium to the Sultanate of the Seljuks - and I will gladly tell you about the local life, traditions, and cultural features.
What to expect
Walk to the fortress
Get ready for a 2300-year journey through history: first Greek, then Turkish. With interesting stories, the path to the top of the hill will pass unnoticed:
- I will tell you about the beautiful traditions of Islam using the example of the ancient 13th-century mosque
- You will see the House of Culture and get acquainted with local life
- From the high hill, enjoy views of the city and Cleopatra Beach
Healing Damlataş Cave
The cave was discovered in 1948. We will go inside and be impressed by stalactites and stalagmites. You will leave here with beautiful photos and bright memories.
Red Tower
And here is another visiting card of Alanya! This defensive structure stands out with its unusual octagonal shape. Once, it could accommodate up to 2000 warriors to protect the city. Now the tower functions as a museum, and from the 5th floor, you can see views of the sea, the fortress, and the city. Keep a couple of pictures as a memory of this journey.
