About this experience
We will head to the canyons in the southwest part of the Hissar Mountains. These lands have something to surprise even those who think they know the country well. You will visit places where natural wonders of rare beauty and diversity converge. You will touch the source of healing water and a sanctuary that locals make pilgrimages to. Interact with the locals and learn many interesting things firsthand.
What to Expect
Darband Gorge
Translated from Tajik, its name means 'closed door'. It used to be one of the most important caravan routes connecting Sogdiana and India, and the residents of this village were responsible for its protection. This incredible place, with its power, strength, and primal beauty, where gorges form labyrinths still not fully explored.
Hoja Moi Ota Sanctuary
A sacred place for the people of Surkhandarya. It consists of burials located on a terrace of one of the walls. Nearby is a cave with an underground lake. Located deep in the Derbent Gorge, the sanctuary is surrounded on all sides by huge vertical cliffs.
Kaptarkhona Canyon
Once inhabited by wild pigeons, hence the name. It consists of intricate turns, narrow gorges, rocks, and boulders scattered along a narrow path. Nearby are villages where the way of life has remained unchanged for hundreds of years, and the residents happily welcome guests.
