About this experience
You haven't fully experienced Samarkand until you visit its mountain ridges, walk through the mystical valley, and listen to local legends. I will take you on the road between the rocks laid by Tamerlane, show you the battlefield of angels and demons, and also the stone that fulfills lovers' dreams. With me, you will taste the best lamb in the country and set a paper crane soaring into the sky.
What to Expect
Ancient Stones
First, we will see a magical stone. In its cavity, very reminiscent of a heart, lovers leave their wishes. Those without a partner make a wish for their swift arrival. Next, we will encounter the serpentine of the ancient pass of Takhtakaracha, which connected the major cities of Samarkand and Shakhrisabz. When Amir Timur became the ruler, for the convenience of crossing to his native city of Shakhrisabz, he ordered this narrow and steep road to be paved with marble.
Devil's Valley
Legend has it that in this valley, an eternal war raged between the forces of light and darkness. In the end, the supreme god became angry with the warriors and turned them into stone. But the stones are not dead. And they are so imposing that it seems they will awaken any minute and continue their battle. After a walk through Devil's Valley, you will set a paper kite flying into the sky - locals call it a crane. According to tradition, cranes are released when one wants to change their life.
Lunch Over the Abyss
For the most delicious lamb in Uzbekistan, we will head to the mountain restaurant 'Katta Tosh.' At an altitude of 1750 m, where the thin air contributes to better meat roasting, they prepare lamb in a tandoor. We will enjoy the view of the mountain chasms, taste the aromatic meat, and listen to fascinating stories about beloved national heroes - Amir Timur and Khodja Nasreddin.
