From Kutaisi - exploring abandoned sanatoriums in Tskaltubo!
About this experience
Tskaltubo is a unique place for fans of abandoned buildings, Soviet architecture, and time travel. There's so much to see here! You will visit 4 abandoned sanatoriums, Stalin's bathhouse, and a 19th-century railway station. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Soviet pseudo-imperial grandeur and imagine life in these places in their heyday. And I will help you with that.
What to expect
Sanatorium "Imereti". You will admire the monumental building in the Stalinist Empire style, adorned with mosaics, sculptures, and chandeliers.
Ancient railway station. Previously, ticket offices, waiting rooms, and other facilities were located here. In the 1990s, the station closed - since then the building has not been used.
Sanatorium "Miner". You will enjoy its columns, balconies, mosaics, chandeliers, and the grand staircase adorned with stucco. You will also see abandoned chairs, a screen, and other interesting artifacts.
Sanatorium "Medea". It will impress you with large arched terraces, hotel rooms, and the restaurant hall.
Soldiers' sanatorium. Despite the restoration, it has preserved elements from the 20th century. This is a bright example of the fusion of two eras. Here you will see a beautiful theater stage and an orangery.
Stalin's bathhouse No.6. It was built specifically for Stalin. I will show you a relief of his family.
