About this experience
This will be a journey through time - from primitive caves to the modern era. You will visit Bibi-Heybat Mosque and Ateshgah Fire Temple, see a natural wonder thousands of years old - the burning mountain Yanardag. Learn about the fire cult and decipher the meaning of petroglyphs. Get acquainted with ancient Azerbaijan and see what it has become today.
What to expect
Bibi-Heybat Mosque
You will visit a majestic mosque where a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad is buried.
Gobustan
Explore the historical and art reserve and visit the open-air museum. See caves and rock paintings. The guide will talk about the life of primitive people.
Mud volcanoes
Of the 800 mud volcanoes in the world, 40% are located in Azerbaijan. Being here is like being on Mars. The landscapes around are so amazing!
Baku
The guide will introduce you to the main city landmarks, in particular we drive past the Heydar Aliyev Center, which was chosen as the most beautiful building in the world in 2014.
Yanardag (Burning Mountain)
This is a rare natural phenomenon. For many millennia, flames have been coming out from under the ground here, which cannot be extinguished by anything. You will admire the unusual burning landscape and find out how this wonder appeared.
Ramana Fortress
You will learn the history of the castle, presumably built in the 14th century. There is a version that underground passages lead from it to Old Baku.
Ateshgah - Fire Temple
The Fire Temple is considered a place of the fusion of three religions - fire worship, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism. You will understand what these teachings have in common and what was worshipped in Absheron before Islam.
