What to Expect
World's first oil wells. We will show you the historical site that became the starting point for the development of the oil industry in the region and worldwide. These wells are located in the Bibi-Heybat area and were developed as early as the 19th century.
Fire Temple Ateshgah. On the outskirts of the village of Surakhani, you will visit an interesting temple that has been used at different times as a place of worship for Hindus, Sikhs, and Zoroastrians. Here burns a sacred flame that should never go out. We will tell you about its history, the significance of fire in Zoroastrianism, and ancient rituals purifying the soul. You will see the rites that are still performed in the temple.
Burning Mountain Yanardag. On the slope of a hill, you will see a natural eternal fire - it arises from the ignition of natural gas seeping through the earth's surface.
