Magnificent cathedrals, squares, and ancient bridge
The tour is designed for those who are in Venice for the first time and want to see its most famous places. You will walk through picturesque streets, feel the extraordinary Venetian spirit, hear interesting legends, and learn the history of the city founded on water. So, the tour program includes:
- Piazza San Marco - the heart of Venice. You will admire the architectural and artistic masterpieces located on the square and learn interesting facts related to them.
- Rialto Bridge - we will walk to it through narrow medieval streets. You will be impressed by the beautiful view of the Grand Canal from here.
- Campo San Polo - the largest square in Venice after San Marco. I will tell you what the word "campo" translates from Italian and why Venetians hide from tourists here.
- Schools of San Giovanni Evangelista and San Rocco - you will find out what a school is and why there are so many of them in Venice.
- Cathedral of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari - rightfully considered the second most beautiful after the Basilica of San Marco. You will hear the history of this magnificent church, which counts more than six centuries.
Throughout the tour, you will also learn many curious facts about gondolas, and in the end, visit an osteria to appreciate the variety of "cicchetti" (traditional Venetian snacks), and the most adventurous ones can taste the classic Venetian aperitif "spritz."
Organizational details
- Entrance tickets, drinks, and food are not included in the tour price.
- The tour does not include visits to churches and cathedrals. We can include them upon your request, but maintaining the overall duration of the tour or at an additional cost.
- The tour can be supplemented with a visit to an observation deck with a beautiful view of the Grand Canal. The duration of the walk will increase by half an hour, and 20 euros will be added to the cost. Check the possibility of visiting the observation deck in advance.
