About this experience
A leisurely evening stroll will introduce you to the main attractions of the capital. You will see the main square of Armenia, ancient monuments and skyscrapers, an open-air museum of modern art, and a real Eastern market. I will tell you about the history of the ancient city in an accessible way, share interesting facts about our traditions and culture, and show you where to take the best photos!
What to Expect
Heart of the City
We will meet at Republic Square, built in the mid-20th century. I will tell you the history of the city's foundation, and you will explore the ancient buildings made of Armenian red tuff - the Government of Armenia, the Ministry of Communications and Transport, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Gallery of Armenia, and the History Museum. The square is also adorned with beautiful dancing fountains. We will watch a colorful evening show and discuss the architectural ensemble.
Oh, Vernissage
Vernissage is the largest market of Armenian souvenirs. Here you will discover various traditional works of art: elegant carpets, handmade national clothing, paintings, musical instruments, jewelry, and much more. Strolling through the stalls, you will immerse yourself in the color and feel the special atmosphere of an Eastern bazaar.
Contrasts of Yerevan
How do you imagine the ancient city? More like an open-air museum than a living, breathing organism. Yerevan is older than Rome but miraculously keeps up with all modern trends. We will walk along Northern Avenue and admire the luxurious skyscrapers standing next to the stone witnesses of bygone eras. You will see the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, statues of famous Armenian poets, and the cozy Swan Lake, which turns into an ice rink in winter.
Panoramic View
By the statue of architect Alexander Tamanyan, you will learn how the city's development has changed. And the magnificent Cascade Complex will amaze you with a rich exposition of modern art. We will explore collections from different countries, including unique works by the world's best sculptors, and then ascend to enjoy a panoramic view of the capital from above and marvel at the breathtaking landscape.
