Exploring the Templar Castle and Pilsen - the capital of Czech brewing
About this experience
What associations come to your mind when you hear about the Czech Republic? I bet like many - Prague, castles, beer! While you can explore the capital on your own, let me show you the rest. I will take you to one of the oldest fortresses in Czech lands and introduce you to its history. And then we will go to the beer city to taste the hoppy drink and observe the production processes.
What to Expect
Zbiroh Castle: Templars, Alphonse Mucha, and the 'amber room'
Our excursion will start in Prague, and the first stop will be the mysterious Zbiroh Castle. Along the way, I will captivate you with its chronicles: I will tell you how the fortress is connected to the Templars, whether it has a current owner, how Alphonse Mucha's creations ended up here, and what the fascists left in the concrete-sealed room in the well. Inside the castle, another Russian-speaking guide will be your escort. He will show you preserved items from past eras - weapons, furniture, books, and works of Czech painter, lead you through ancient halls - and deepen your interest in medieval fortresses!
By the way, the castle is not only interesting for its history inside, its surroundings are also of interest. For example, beneath the cliff where the fortress stands, there are jade deposits, which are also associated with different stories - we will talk about them during the tour.
Pilsen - beer without borders
After the castle, we will head to Pilsen, the unofficial capital of Czech brewing, and visit the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. You will not only taste the authentic high-quality beer, but also visit the production workshops, descend into the cellars where it is stored, visit a small museum, and stop by the souvenir shop for a branded mug or a fun t-shirt.
I will show you a Czech Republic you have not seen yet!
