What to Expect
From 1861 to 1865, Turin was the first capital of Italy. In addition to the Royal Palace and the Madama Palace in the city center, there is a huge heritage around: summer palaces, country estates, and hunting lodges of the Savoy Dynasty. I will tell you about the history and intrigues of these places during our trip.
First, we will visit the royal residence Venaria Reale - this palace served as a model for the park architecture of the French Versailles. After exploring all the interesting features here, we will head to the hunting lodge in Stupinigi. This modest palace has 137 rooms and 17 galleries and has housed the Museum of Decorative Arts since 1919.
Next, we will visit the castle in Racconigi - the summer residence of the Savoy kings. In 1909, Emperor Nicholas II stayed here. The palace impressed the emperor so much that it served as a prototype for the Livadia Palace in Crimea.
I will tell you about all these amazing places, the customs of the residents, we will enjoy nature and architecture, delve into the intricacies of palace management so that you get maximum intellectual and spiritual satisfaction from the trip;)
