About this experience
I will strive to reveal the beauty and charm of Turin through its main attractions and subtle details, providing insights into the city's history, local customs, and contemporary developments.
Turin is a city of surprises, both for those unfamiliar with Italy and for those who have some knowledge of the country. Instead of narrow, winding medieval streets, the city is crossed by broad avenues and divided by elegant squares surrounded by endless arcades.
Program
During the tour, I will introduce you to the key moments of Turin's history: from its Roman foundation to the 10-century rule of the House of Savoy, and the 100-year legacy of the FIAT factory. I will also delve into the city's current vitality, marked by active modernization and transformation into a hub of contemporary art and cultural innovation. Culinary delights, chocolate, and Piedmontese cuisine will also captivate your senses.
We will visit the main landmarks of the city, but I am always open to customizing the itinerary based on your interests:
- Piazza Castello (the heart of Turin), Royal Palace, and Royal Palace of the Queen;
- Church of Saint Lawrence – the first home of the Holy Shroud in Turin;
- Turin's symbol – the Antonelliana Tower;
- Piazza Carignano and the palace where the first king of unified Italy was born;
- Piazza San Carlo (‘Piazza Reale’) – the city's main Baroque square;
- Capuchin Hill;
- Basilica of Superga;
- Medieval village – an architectural quintessence of medieval Piedmont.
If desired, we can visit one of the historic cafes known for their exquisite chocolate and chocolate-based beverages.
