About this experience
You will stroll through the city center and, depending on the season, see the snowy caps of the Alpine mountains or the green hills shimmering with emerald in the sun. I will tell you legends, myths, and secrets of Turin and show you its main attractions: Palatine Gates, Piazza San Carlo, Royal Palace, and much more. I will also try to prove that Turin is no less elegant than the French capital and the locals rightly call it 'piccola Parigi' - little Paris.
What to Expect:
City's Postcards
I will show you Turin through the eyes of someone in love with it. The excursion program includes:
- Royal Palace - residence of the Savoy dynasty. I will tell stories from the lives of the members of this ancient family.
- Madama Palace - you will be impressed by the beautiful Baroque facade and the backside resembling a medieval castle. Currently, the palace houses the Museum of Ancient Art.
- Mole Antonelliana - symbol of Turin. You will learn about its original and present purpose.
- Piazza San Carlo - one of Turin's main squares, which locals call the city's 'salon'. I'll show you the historical cafes located on it and the monument dedicated to Duke Emmanuel Philibert, thanks to whom Turin became the capital of the Duchy of Savoy.
- Egyptian Museum, which has a large collection of artifacts and is the second most significant after the Cairo Museum.
- Cariniano Palace - you will learn about 'Piedmont Baroque' and which Italian ruler was born in the palace.
- Palatine Gates - you will be amazed by a vivid testimony of the Roman Empire era, preserved in excellent condition to this day.
- St. John the Baptist Cathedral - I will tell you about the famous Turin Shroud, which is kept within the cathedral walls.
- Church of Saint Lawrence - you will see a facade resembling a palace. The Shroud was first exhibited in Turin in this church, and now a copy of it is kept here.
During the walk, if you wish, you can taste the traditional Turin drink bicerin made of chocolate, coffee, and cream at a historic cafe.
