About this experience
This excursion will give you two opportunities: to see the main landmarks of Beijing and learn their history, and also to feel like an important guest at the imperial court - with the help of historical costumes in which we will photograph you with your own camera. We will stroll around the Imperial Palace and the picturesque Beihai Park - perfect settings for a photoshoot!
What to Expect
Preparation
Before the start of the tour, around 09:00, we will accompany you to a costume rental company. There, you will be fitted with court ceremonial costumes. Then a makeup artist will give you an exquisite makeup (1-1.5 hours). All set, we can embark on our journey!
The Forbidden City, or Gugun
The most impressive architectural complex in China. For almost 500 years, 24 Chinese emperors ruled the country from this huge palace. You will learn about the layout of the Forbidden City, its history, and the palace's architecture based on feng shui. You will also take a stroll around the grounds, feeling like an emperor or empress. And we will take photos with you - the shots in such ambiance are unforgettable!
Beihai Park
We will visit the imperial park with photogenic pavilions, hills, temples, and pagoda. This is one of the most picturesque places in Beijing.
After the tour, you will also learn about tea-drinking traditions and get acquainted with ancient Chinese medicine.
Organizational Details
- Tickets to the Forbidden City must be booked in advance, as they sell out quickly. Before booking, please check in the correspondence if there are tickets available for your desired date. If tickets are available, we ask you to confirm the order, make a prepayment without delay, and provide us with your passport details so we can reserve them for you
- If there are no tickets, or after confirming their availability you could not make a prepayment and the tickets have sold out, we will offer you to reschedule the tour for another day or cancel it
- In case of ticket unavailability (the organizer will notify you 6 days in advance), you will have the opportunity to visit Jingshan Park (2 yuan/person) and from there admire the Forbidden City from a height
- If tickets to the Forbidden City for your desired date are unavailable or you failed to purchase them in time, it is possible to conduct a photoshoot only in Beihai Park
- The tour takes place in the city center, where parking is challenging. Therefore, the guide will order a car using the app at our expense. We will pick you up from your hotel and drop you back off after the tour
- The price includes makeup, costume rental, and a photoshoot with your own camera for one person. If other participants also wish to be photographed, the surcharge will be $85/person
- It is possible to conduct the tour for a larger group - please inquire in advance in the correspondence
Additional Expenses
- Entrance ticket to the Forbidden City - 60 yuan/person (from November to March - 40 yuan/person)
- Entrance ticket to Beihai Park - 2 yuan/person
The tour with a photoshoot will be conducted by a photographer-guide from our team.
