The word 'mountains' is not accidental in the name of our country - the region is famous for its extraordinary nature. During the trip, you will admire dizzying landscapes, visit observation platforms, see the canyons of the Tara and Moracha rivers. You will also visit the high-altitude Žabljak, Black Lake, and the Đurđevića Tara Bridge, which harmoniously complements the landscape.
What to expect
Full Day
The program of this excursion is flexible and depends on your preferences. Depending on the chosen route, we can pass by various attractions. Among them might be:
- Skadar Lake - you will admire this natural attraction from afar or up close, enjoy the beauty of the landscape, and take successful photos.
- Millennium Bridge - a symbol of modern Podgorica, here you will also meet the monument to Vysotsky and learn about the poet's love for Montenegrins.
- Niagara Waterfall - Montenegrin version of the famous waterfall, not as massive, but also very beautiful.
- Moracha Canyon and Monastery - we will make several photo stops in beautiful places, adrenaline lovers can take a walk above the river on a suspension bridge, and everyone else can simply admire the views of the canyon and surrounding mountains.
- Đurđevića Tara Bridge - located in the Tara River Canyon, where you will enjoy a mesmerizing view of the turbulent waters and green mountains. I will tell you about the engineer Lazar Jauković, whose monument stands at the entrance, and how Yugoslav partisans blew up the longest span and stopped the advancement of Italian troops.
- Žabljak town, resembling an alpine resort with its meadows and the giant peaks of Durmitor - the landscapes around are beautiful in both winter and summer. We will walk to the shores of Black Lake or visit the Čurjevac lookout at the edge of Tara Canyon.
- Sedlo Pass - the highest point on our route; at the observation deck, you will take excellent shots, rest on a bench, or walk to one of the nearby peaks.
- Piva Lake of amazing color, surrounded by sheer rocky shores with pines growing directly from the stones. If possible, we will visit a hydroelectric power station with a dam and head to Piva Monastery - I will tell you why it had to 'move' higher up.
And this is not a complete list of the beauties that we will encounter on our way. Also, if desired, we can swim in rivers or lakes, zip line, or take a cable car to the top of Savin Kuk.
Organizational Details
- National Park Durmitor tickets, lunch, and additional entertainment at your own expense.
- The cost is specified for a 12-hour trip starting from Budva, starting from other places and changes in duration are paid additionally.
- Multi-day options are available - the traveler covers accommodation costs. In this case, rafting, horseback riding, or boating on Piva Lake can be added.
- It is advisable to bring water, comfortable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, snacks for a picnic outdoors as desired.
