The picturesque landscapes of Montenegro are truly mesmerizing! From Lake Skadar to the canyons of the Moraca and Mrtvica rivers, glacial lakes, and the pristine forests of Durmitor Park, you will get to know the country, its people, and customs. You will learn the main facts about Montenegro and explore its most beautiful spots.
What to Expect
From South to North: Circular Tour of Montenegro
Our route will include amazing natural and man-made locations across all climatic zones of the country, showcasing its diversity. You will see:
- Sveti Stefan island-hotel – a 15th-century architectural complex. I will tell you about the Pashtrovichi tribe that inhabited this place in the past and the celebrities who visited the world's first exclusive type hotel.
- Lesendro Fortress on the shore of Lake Skadar, understand its strategic importance, and learn the famous Montenegrin proverb. Afterwards, we will enjoy the panoramic view of the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula and discuss what cryptodepression is.
- Canyons of the Moraca, Mrtvica, and Tara rivers. You will learn about the geology of these places and the construction of the railway in the mountain ranges, offering a magnificent view of the coniferous forests that are over 400 years old.
- Djurdjevica Bridge, located at a height of 175 meters. I will explain who and when built this structure and why the Montenegrins themselves destroyed it.
- Durmitor National Park – an untouched natural gem. Here you will walk around the glacial Black Lake and get acquainted with the country's flora and fauna.
Montenegrin Traditions and Customs
Nature outside the window, changing landscapes and cities will provide the best backdrop for tales about the local culture. We will discuss Sochelnik and the Slava celebration. I will help you understand how Montenegrins live and why a patriarchal system prevails here. You will learn about the tradition of 'virgin' and other significant customs for the Montenegrins.
