About this experience
Northern Montenegro is a land of ancient monasteries, glacial lakes, and majestic mountains. You will visit the Durmitor and Biogradska Gora National Parks, drive along picturesque serpentine roads, swim in crystal clear freshwater, and stroll across ancient bridges. And I will tell you how the north of the country differs from the south and how the people live here.
What to expect
Sea, mountains, and lakes
We will visit the Bay of Kotor, drive by the artificial Slano Lake, and visit the 16th-century Piva Monastery. We will be impressed by Mount Prutas, cross the Saddle Pass, and take a cable car to the top of Savin Kuk. Then we will stop by the town of Zabljak, reminiscent of an alpine resort, and swim in the Black Lake of glacial origin.
Djurdjevica Bridge and Tara River Canyon
You will admire Montenegro's longest river - Tara. You will see the Djurdjevica arch bridge and hear its dramatic history. Additionally, I will show you Lake Skadar and Lake Biograd, the Lesendro Fortress, and the Orthodox Monastery of Moraca, founded in 1252. You will also see the hunting lodge of the Yugoslav president Tito, drive across the Millennium Bridge in Podgorica, and visit a wine cellar.
