About this experience
Cesky Krumlov is one of the most picturesque towns in the Czech Republic. It inspired Andersen to write the fairy tale 'The Snow Queen'. Walking through the colorful streets, admiring the ornate facades of houses and Gothic monuments, you will be transported back to the Middle Ages. We will talk about the lifestyle of the past, iconic figures, and local legends. And of course, special attention will be given to the ancient castle, the second largest in the country.
What to Expect
Unique Cesky Krumlov
- You will stroll through ancient winding streets, admire the facades of houses, and learn about the lives of townspeople in earlier times
- In the Square of Consent, you will see the layout of houses and adjacent streets exactly as it was centuries ago
- Explore the 17th-century town hall and beautifully preserved Gothic arches
- Visit the Church of St. Vitus and discover a monument of late Gothic from the 15th century
- During the walk, I will talk about the unique landscape of the area that successfully repelled enemy attacks
- You will also learn about the famous artist Egon Schiele and the most famous ghost in the Czech Republic, which resides right here
Majestic Castle
Cesky Krumlov Castle is the second largest after Prague Castle, the residence of Czech rulers.
- Appreciate the impressive view of the construction, which seems to blend with the rock it sits on.
- Discover the legend of the castle's foundation, learn about its period of prosperity during the Renaissance
- We will talk about its powerful owners, known as the South Bohemian princes.
- And also recall the legends associated with the medieval monument.
You can tour the castle outside, including its five ancient inner courtyards, all year round, and for free. From May to October, for an additional fee, you can visit the interiors and tower of the castle, as well as the castle park.
Midway through the tour, we will take a break for lunch at a pleasant local establishment.
