About this experience
In August 2022, a giant historical and ethnographic complex 'Eternal City' opened in Samarkand. Its territory is ten times larger than the Moscow Kremlin. We will visit it in the evening when all objects are illuminated by lights and the atmosphere of magic is everywhere. We will stroll through the streets stylized as antiquity, see singing fountains, benches of artists, and craft workshops.
What to expect
Past and Present
'Eternal City' is a huge park that recreates the atmosphere of an ancient Eastern city while incorporating modern technology. You will see echoes of Khiva, Bukhara, Fergana, Tashkent, and of course, the ancient Samarkand. You will appreciate the kinetic installation 'Sun', find a puppet theater and a library. And I will tell you how the complex was created and whose idea it belongs to.
The World of Ancient Crafts
Uzbekistan is a country with rich ancient traditions. You will see how silk carpets and miniatures are born, how wood carving and luxurious national costumes are created. Besides, you will walk along a picturesque embankment and, if desired, try local gastronomic specialties: layered samsa from the tandyr and aromatic local wines.
