About this experience
Evening is the best time to explore the iconic sights of Samarkand. Monuments illuminated create an atmosphere of an Eastern fairy tale, and the crowds of tourists do not interfere with enjoying it. You will get acquainted with the rich history of the city and its landmarks, as well as take spectacular photos. In our program: mausoleums Gur-Emir and Rukhobod, Registan complex, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, and other symbols of Samarkand.
What to expect
The monument and mausoleum of Amir Timur (Gur-Emir). We will tell you about Timur, his life, and campaigns. You will learn how the destinies of the representatives of the Timurid dynasty unfolded. You will also find out why Amir Timur called himself the 'Sword of Islam' and what legends are associated with him among the people.
Rukhobod Mausoleum - one of the oldest and undoubtedly the most ascetic and austere buildings of Old Samarkand. There are no bright and colorful mosaics, glazes, or intricate lines here. In the mausoleum, built by the order of Timur, rests the revered Muslim saint Burkhaneddin Sagardji.
Registan Ensemble. You will explore the complex, which is rightfully considered one of the most vivid examples of Samarkand urban architecture. Study the skillfully decorated facades of the three madrasahs and see how the square itself is harmoniously included in the general composition. Listen to stories from the distant past and learn about life and education in a madrasah.
Park of the Greats of Samarkand. Near the monument to the first president of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, we will share stories about modern Uzbekistan, its traditions, and customs.
Bibi-Khanum Mosque. Additionally, you will see the exterior of the Cathedral Mosque of Amir Timur. Hear the history of the mosque's construction and an interesting legend associated with the commander's wife.
