About this experience
Recipe of a European city: narrow streets, neat old buildings, cobblestone squares with markets and a touch of color. In Amsterdam, it is canals and bridges, cheese, liberal manners, and, of course, postcard houses. You will navigate through the streets, collecting sights and stories. And also treat yourself to Dutch cheese and learn to distinguish between its varieties.
What to expect
Signature of Amsterdam: see and decipher
Let's start our journey with a walk along the canals through the oldest districts of the city: here you will find important historical sites, dancing gingerbread houses on the water, the narrowest building in the world, and the office of the richest company of all times. Along the way, I will tell you how people live in boats and why Amsterdam is considered the capital of bicycles. And at Rembrandt Square, near the monument of the 'Night Watch', we will talk about the symbolism of the painting and the fate of the great artist. In addition, you will visit the oldest and most mysterious courtyard in the city - Begijnhof, walk through the square where its history began, and see the country's main balcony.
Cheese: theory and practice
To deliciously conclude the meeting, we will visit a boutique of authentic Dutch cheese. You will learn about its history and production secrets, after which you will taste the traditional product and learn to distinguish cheeses with different aging periods. Jams and sauces, which we will combine with 20 types of cheese, will help fully reveal the taste and feel all its variations. I'm sure you will enjoy such a flavorful and delicious finale of the tour 🧀
