About this experience
Luxor is the place where the history of Egypt began. You will see all its main attractions: the Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. I will tell you about the lives of ancient and modern Egyptians, local traditions, holidays, religion, economy, and education system.
What to expect
The Karnak Temple - you will see the most significant places of this religious complex and uncover their history. Among them are the sacred lake, the chapel, and the magical scarab beetle that grants wishes.
The Luxor Temple - I will tell you which pharaohs built it and to whom it is dedicated. And I will show you the famous three-kilometer Sphinx Alley.
The Temple of Hatshepsut - you will learn about the only female pharaoh in the history of Ancient Egypt and her contributions to the country's development.
The Valley of the Kings - we will visit the valley where the pharaohs' tombs are located. You will hear about the discovery of the tombs and see some of the remaining ones.
The Colossi of Memnon - you will admire two giant statues weighing seven hundred tons each and learn interesting stories connected to them.
Organizational details
- Transfer from the hotel in Hurghada to Luxor and back to the Hurghada hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned minibus is included in the excursion price.
- We will pick you up from any location in Hurghada at around 5:00 am. The drive to Luxor takes about 4 hours. There will be a sanitary stop of 15-20 minutes on the way. Arrival in Luxor around 9:30 am. After the excursion, we will bring you back to the hotel around 8:00 pm.
