Join me in exploring the former capital of the flourishing Kokand Khanate! You will see ancient madrasas, visit the luxurious Hudoyarkhan Palace and the Jami Mosque. We will stroll through a cozy city park and wander through authentic eastern quarters where everyday life unfolds at a leisurely pace.
What to Expect
Unique Kokand
I will show you all the main attractions of the city. The tour program includes:
- Hudoyarkhan Palace - the magnificent palace of the last rulers of the Kokand Khanate. You will discover the features of Central Asian architecture, admire the intricate carvings and painted patterns.
- Jami Mosque - congregational mosque in Chorsu Square. I will share its rich history and decipher the architectural features.
- Narbuta-biy Madrasa - the largest functioning madrasa in Kokand. You will learn about the educational process in the madrasa and its difference from regular school education.
- Dasturkhonchi Madrasa - a miniature madrasa in the old part of the city. You will hear about its past and observe the surrounding life filled with coziness and traditional eastern spirit.
- Mekhrigie Eco Center - you will visit a private farm where rare local plants are grown and organic medicines are produced from them.
