About this experience
You will discover all the facets of Tenerife - from picturesque coastlines to exotic flora and the statue of the dark-faced Virgin of Candelaria. You will understand how unique this paradise island is, where the culture of the local population and the pilgrimage tradition harmoniously blend with diverse and colorful nature. You will plunge into the waters of volcanic pools and choose your favorite local drink.
What to Expect
Stories and Legends of Local Towns
You will visit the town of Santiago del Teide, where beneath your feet lies volcanic rock from the last eruption on Tenerife. From there, we will drive to the pirate village of Masca along a serpent-like road jokingly called '5 kilometers of fear' by locals. But you have nothing to fear: my driving style will smooth out the steep turns, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking panoramas of Tenerife and hear stories about pirate gold, which legend has it was hidden here by Barbarossa himself. We will be greeted by the Teno Mountain Range, views of neighboring islands, and the deepest and most picturesque gorge in the archipelago.
The Color of Tenerife
In the town of Garachico, you will take photos on the boulders of real solidified volcanic lava, learn about the tragic fate of this city and why the wealthiest people lived here, and at Icod de los Vinos you will see the famous dragon tree - one of the oldest organisms on earth. We will stroll through the cozy historical center of the city, appreciate the typical carved Canarian balconies made of pine wood, and of course, visit a winery. You will bathe in the ocean waters of volcanic pools and see a huge sperm whale skeleton. We will visit one of the remote locations on the northwest coast of Tenerife, where the ocean is lively and truly active, with powerful waves and olive grove golf courses.
Awaken Your Inner Foodie
You will have the chance to try authentic Canarian coffee, Barraquito, and taste the best from wineries across the archipelago - liqueurs and homemade wines that you can savor while enjoying the views of Tenerife. The host of the Canarian restaurant, Santi, will recommend local snacks and main dishes, with the finest aperitif being the delicious goat cheese with national sauces, Mojo.
On the way back, we will once again cross various climate zones, allowing you to be amazed by the natural diversity of Tenerife, drive through mountain villages, and reach a pass at 1117 meters high, which divides the south and north of the island, offering a fantastic view of Mount Teide.
