About this experience
I invite you to go on a friendly journey along a route that combines nature, active recreation, beautiful views, and ancient shrines. You will visit the Caucasian Deer Breeding Center. And during an easy trek from Parz Lake, you will get acquainted with the nature of the region, see authentic Christian monuments - khachkars, hear the history of a medieval monastery, and of course, enjoy the landscapes.
What to Expect
๐ฆ In the morning, I will pick you up at your hotel in Dilijan, and we will head to the starting point of the hiking route. On the way, we will stop at the Caucasian noble deer population restoration center. I always have a healthy snack for its lovely inhabitants.
๐ Our hiking route will start from Parz Lake - here you can ride a water bike or fly over the lake on a zipline if you enjoy such activities.
๐ถ The route is about 7 km with a slight and fairly smooth elevation gain (around 280 m). We will walk at a leisurely pace, comfortable for you, with plenty of stops.
๐ Along the way, you will see ancient khachkars (stone steles with carved crosses) and majestic forests. On the plateau overlooking a magnificent circular panorama of mountain peaks, we will have a picnic break.
๐ The route will lead us to the ancient Goshavank Monastery. As you descend to the temple, you can take photos from an unusual angle and see a chapel located some distance away and therefore not often visited by travelers. I promise you an engaging story about the monastery's history.
