About this experience
I invite all lovers of pristine corners and mountain landscapes to this journey. Also, those who have already seen the main sights of Armenia and crave new experiences. You will enjoy the panoramas of the surroundings from Mount Dimats and drive along the Geghama Sea, or Lake Sevan. While strolling leisurely through cozy Dilijan, you will get acquainted with its curious history and rich nature.
What to Expect
Mount Dimats
The first stop of the program is a picturesque peak on the rugged Idjevan Ridge. By off-road vehicle, we will conquer the summit of the mountain (2350 m above sea level). Optionally, we will have a small picnic. On the way to undiscovered panoramas, you will admire alpine meadows, see flocks of sheep, shepherds' camps, herds of cows, and herds of horses.
In case of heavy snowfall, visiting Mount Dimats is impossible, and the location will be replaced with the picturesque Agartsin Monastery.
Picturesque Dilijan
Next, we will descend to the picturesque resort town, stroll along the old street, taste the famous natural spring water of Dilijan, and talk about the interesting history of Dilijan. You will learn about the times when royal hunting grounds were located here, the period of decline during the Ottoman-Persian wars, the restoration and development of the region. Also, you will hear about the settlement of the surrounding areas by Russian Old Believers.
Lake Sevan
On the way back, we will drive along the jewel of Armenia, the high-mountain freshwater Lake Sevan. You can immerse yourself in the invigorating waters, as the locals call it, of the Geghama Sea. And if you wish, you can taste signature dishes made from Sevan fish at one of the establishments.
