About this experience
Dilijan National Park is one of the picturesque corners of our amazing Armenia. We are delighted to invite you to explore it! You will wander along forest paths, enjoy the tranquility of silent lakes, and touch the medieval history. Our tour will be interesting to nature lovers and admirers of ancient architectural monuments alike.
What to expect
Beautiful Parz Lake
Our hike will start at Parz Lake (translated as "clear lake" from Armenian). It is nestled in a shallow valley between wooded hills. You will admire the water's surface reflecting the dense forests of Dilijan Reserve. Listen to a story about the park's nature and history.
Majestic Goshavank and lace stone patterns
Walking along a beautiful forest trail, we will reach the village of Gosh, where Goshavank Monastery is located - one of the largest cultural and religious centers of medieval Armenia. Many manuscripts created in Goshavank have survived to this day. Inside the monastery, you will encounter a true handcrafted marvel - an ancient khachkar named "asehnagorts" ("made by a needle"). This 12th-century stone stele with a carved image of a cross features a unique "lace" ornament - no khachkar pattern is repeated.
The heart of Dilijan Reserve - Lake Gosh
Our path will lead through dense forest to this lake. We will rest on the shore, enjoy the pure forest air, and head to the village of Khachardzan, where we will conclude our hike. Along the way, we will admire the picturesque Tavush Mountains.
