What to Expect
Two Idyllic Villages
Our route is laid out in the area of the island known as the 'Limassol Wine Villages.' In addition to viticulture, local residents craft traditional goods and preserve the heritage of Cyprus. You will see how two villages live:
- Lofou - an embodiment of peace and tranquility. Wandering through the stone streets, you will peek into a typical Cypriot house of a woodcarver.
- Lania, beloved by artists. Banners with old photos hang on the houses here - locals smile from them... and you are already among them, in the past! In Lania, you will find a whole gallery in the courtyard of an English artist, see a shoemaker's workshop and an old wine press, and also visit a church where a miraculous icon is kept.
Cyprus in a Bottle and on a Plate
🍇 In this region, 23 grape varieties are grown, and each winery is a separate world. We will visit the family winery 'Karseras,' specializing in producing Commandaria. You will taste this dessert wine, which has become a globally renowned Cypriot brand.
🌿 Another symbol of the island is olives. At the Oleastro Olive Park-Museum, you will discover the olive history of Cyprus, which has been going on for over a thousand years. Enjoy the mountain air and buy ecologically pure olive oil prepared according to ancient recipes. Children will be delighted with the mini-zoo, where rabbits, ponies, and sheep live.
🍓 For dessert, we will visit the family sweets factory 'Katerina.' Their treats - jams, jellies, cookies - are loved by locals and travelers alike. No preservatives or colorings! The hospitable hosts will treat you to a cup of Cypriot coffee and jam - or as they say here, a 'spoonful of sweetness.'
