About this experience
Cyprus is a place known for its blessed sites: in this journey you will discover the main ones. You will encounter picturesque roads, Christian relics, miraculous icons, legends about the lives of the most revered saints, and stories about the history of each monastery, temple, and church.
What to expect
Church of Saint Lazarus
The tour begins with a visit to the main attraction of Larnaca - the Church of Saint Lazarus, which was built with the money of the Byzantine Emperor Leo VI the Wise. You will explore the church inside and out, learn its history and legends, see the miraculous icon, and touch the relics of Saint Lazarus, who, according to legend, was resurrected by Jesus Christ.
Monastery of Saint Phocas
In the picturesque area near the village of Mosfiloti, you will visit an active women's monastery, where you can collect healing water and clay, which helps with skin diseases. You will hear about the life of the early Christian Saint Phocas and her extraordinary gift.
Church of Saints Cyprian and Justina
This church is dedicated to one of the most revered saints in the entire Christian world, who protected all who asked from the evil eye. At our request, the priest will say a prayer for removing the curse, and you will be able to touch the holy relics: it is believed that they protect against any evil word and bad influence of outsiders.
Royal Monastery of Kykkos
You will head to the Troodos Mountains, where you will visit the stavropegial monastery dedicated to the Most Holy Lady of Kykkos. You will learn the history of this place and see an icon that, according to legend, was painted by the Apostle Luke during the earthly life of the Virgin Mary. In the monastery's treasury, you can touch the relics of several saints - St. Nicholas, St. Panteleimon, Apostle Luke, John the Baptist, and many others.
Monastery of Trooditissa
Here you will find a miraculous icon that helps with many diseases, including infertility, and a belt that is put on those in need of fertility. There are many stories about the local miracle: the priest says a prayer, and... a year or two later, people return with children and send their thanks. Afterwards, you will descend to the village of Omodos and visit the Church of the Holy Cross, where the ropes of Christ are kept - a piece of rope that was used to tie Jesus during the crucifixion. In the village, you will also taste Cypriot wines and see an old wine press.
