You will visit famous historical sights and secret corners of Istanbul, enjoy its mesmerizing views from the best observation decks, and feel the Eastern flavor at the Egyptian Bazaar. I will help reveal the character of this amazing city and tell you all the interesting facts about it!
What to Expect
Diverse Istanbul
You will immerse yourself in the world of Europe and Asia, past centuries and modern times. The excursion program includes:
- Suleymaniye Mosque — a symbol of Istanbul's Golden Age. You will explore the tombs of Suleiman and Roxelana and admire the wonderful view from the observation deck.
- Egyptian Bazaar — this colorful Eastern market with the pungent aroma of spices and sweets will leave a lasting impression on you.
- Holy Trinity Church — an active Greek Orthodox church. You will learn about its architecture, unlike other Istanbul churches, and feel the atmosphere of peace amidst the noisy metropolis.
- Galata Tower — one of the city's oldest structures. Here, I will tell you about the flight over the Bosphorus of the 'Turkish Icarus.'
- Istiklal Avenue — the local Arbat, where you will see Catholic churches, nightclubs, museums, cinemas, an old lyceum, the tower of the Ottoman Empire, and the red historic tram.
- Saint Anthony of Padua Church — the largest Catholic church in Istanbul that impresses with its grandeur and beauty.
- Bosphorus Walk — you will see iconic landmarks from a new perspective and enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
Organizational Details
How the Tour Goes
- The tour will be conducted by one of our licensed historian guides. The guide will be with you throughout the excursion, including inside the sites.
- Upon request, I can organize transfer to and from the airport for you. Please inquire about the details via direct message.
- The Bosphorus walk takes place on a municipal boat with other people. An individual walk is possible upon prior request.
- Note: the Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays.
What's Included and What's Not
- Entrance tickets and public transport are not included: Galata Tower — 750 lira/adults, free for children under 5; ferry across the Bosphorus — 25-50 lira.
- The excursion can be done by Mercedes Vito car. Additional cost — 160 euros (prepayment — 40 euros).
- If desired, we can take a break for Turkish coffee and lunch. Food and drinks are paid for separately.
