About this experience
You will hear intriguing stories of the Cannes Film Festival, feel like a star walking the red carpet, and see street art masterpieces dedicated to the world of cinema. In the old quarter of Suquet, you will explore a medieval castle, enjoy the views of the city, and learn about the legends of the Lérins Islands.
What to Expect
An event that brought global fame to the city
We will walk along the Alley of Stars and see a large part of the "star hands" collection. We will talk about famous actresses like Brigitte Bardot, Grace Kelly, and Tatiana Samoilova, about Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, and others. On the red carpet leading to the entrance of the Palais des Festivals, we will have a small photo session. I will tell you about the reasons for creating the festival and the unusual incidents that have occurred at this event. The illustrations for the story will be the huge graffiti on the city walls dedicated to cinema and famous actors.
Not just about cinema
Cannes is not only about the festival. On the luxurious Croisette Promenade, you will enjoy the azure sea and learn about its name. Through the narrow streets of the Old Town, we will climb to the top of Suquet Hill. From the panoramic platform, you will have a view of the city spread out along the coast and the island of Saint-Honorat, where monks of the Lérins Abbey have been working since the 5th century. I will tell you about the role of the abbots in the history of Cannes and recount the legend of the man in the iron mask who was imprisoned on the neighboring island of Sainte-Marguerite. Afterwards, we will visit the medieval Castre Castle - you will learn what is behind the mighty walls - and peek into the Romanesque Church of Notre Dame d'Esperance, where you will see frescoes by Georges Rouault and a gilded statue of Saint Anne from the 15th century.
