About this experience
I invite you to a trip to the largest city of Egypt. In one day, you will visit the mysterious pyramids, stroll through Saladin's fortress, and see the largest museum in Africa. I will show you the treasures of Tutankhamun, the image of the first female pharaoh, explain where the nose of the Great Sphinx's main guard went, and tell you about the customs and legends of both Egypts: ancient and modern.
What to expect
The Great Pyramids of Giza
At night, we leave Hurghada and travel towards Cairo in a comfortable car. The first stop - and what a sight! You will see the only surviving monument of the 7 wonders of the Ancient World - the Pyramids of Giza. I will tell the story of the creation of each of the great pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. We will see 6 more pyramids, the tomb of Khufu's mother, and other attractions. And then we will meet the mysterious Sphinx - the oldest of the monumental sculptures preserved on earth.
Cairo Citadel
Saladin's Fortress, or Cairo Citadel, was built 800 years ago. There are two mosques on its territory. One has been standing for 750 years - the mosque of Sultan Ibn Kalawun, and the other is considered one of the most magnificent mosques in the city - the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. As soon as you step inside, you will understand why it's also called alabaster. Also, from the fortress, you will have a splendid view of Cairo and can leisurely admire its panorama.
Cairo Museum: the highlights of 120,000 artifacts
The next point of our route is the Cairo Museum, the largest museum in Egypt and Africa. Here you will get acquainted with the main treasures of antiquity found during excavations. The head of the statue of Queen Hatshepsut, the first female pharaoh, painted limestone statues of Prince Rahotep and his wife. Treasures from Tutankhamun's tomb, shining with gold. Mummies, including animals, jewelry, sandals, and vessels. Step by step, the life of Ancient Egypt will unfold before you: its structure, customs, and unique beauty.
