In our warm city, representatives of many nations and religions have peacefully and harmoniously lived side by side for centuries, preserving their uniqueness. How did this happen? And why are we all here – first and foremost, Tbilisians? Let's figure it out! To do this, we will visit the homes of 3-5 hospitable families and have tea and treats while discussing the history and traditions of their people. Along the way, you will learn more about Tbilisi.
What to expect
Walk through the Old Town and Sololaki district
Our route is through the Tbilisi where native Tbilisians still live in cozy, picturesque courtyards. You will hear interesting facts, legends, and undeniable truths about the Georgian capital, and you can ask any questions.
Visits to local residents
Depending on the day, we will be welcomed in 3-5 families – in any case, we will visit representatives of different ethnic communities: Georgians, Azerbaijanis, Armenians, Yezidis, Ossetians, Russians.
- You will learn the history of each family and the history of their people from the moment of their appearance on the territory of present-day Georgia
- You will hear about the culture, language, and faith of different nationalities
- You will communicate with both ordinary residents and descendants of Tbilisi nobility, who have made a significant contribution to the city's development
- You will discover the difference between the pastries mchadi and chvishtari, between the dances koch'ari and govand – and much more
Each family will treat you to traditional pastries, dessert, or a drink, and the hostesses will gladly share family recipes.
Organizational Details
- Everything is included in the price, including treats in the families
- We will visit from 3 to 5 families depending on their availability on the day you choose. We will spend 30-45 minutes in each family.
- The tour is on foot, so wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. If there is precipitation, we can use public transport.
