What to expect
Bukhara’s Highlights
You will walk through the Old Town and see its main attractions: ancient trading domes, madrasas, mosques, the architectural ensemble of Poi-Kalon with a 47-meter minaret, and Lyabi-Hauz square with a picturesque pond. I will also show you the Ark Fortress - the citadel of the Emir of Bukhara - and the Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum, equally important for representatives of three world religions. Why - you will learn on the tour.
Immerse yourself in history
Bukhara holds thousands of secrets. You will learn how the fire worshipers' temple became one of the most important Muslim shrines and how the ruler of Bukhara tried to prove to the locals that he was 'just like them'. Which mosque was built before the spread of Islam and which madrasa became the prototype of educational institutions in Uzbekistan. How the Prophet Job struck the ground with his staff to create a well of pure water - and what this story has to do with Bukhara.
