What to expect
Medieval Bukhara
Locals say: "All roads of Bukhara lead to Lyab-i-Hauz". This is the square around the ancient artificial reservoir. Once there were shops, craft workshops, and cafes, where traders drank aromatic tea and made deals. You will see what is happening here today. And then take a walk through the ancient streets resembling mazes. Pass under the domes of the 16th century and peek into the caravanserais where merchants stayed.
Kalon Minaret, fortress, mosques, and mausoleums
You will see the main symbol of Bukhara - the 47-meter Kalon Minaret, which served as a beacon for caravans. It is connected to the largest mosque of the city with a small bridge, which we will definitely visit. In addition, we will explore the ancient Ark fortress, where the rulers of Bukhara lived for two thousand years. And visit the picturesque park where two ancient mausoleums are located: the Samanid dynasty and Chashma-Ayub.
