About this experience
This tour is for those who are new to the city and want to quickly get to know it. On a comfortable minibus, you will tour the city center and during stops, you will get a closer look at its streets and beautiful buildings. You will learn about Hungary's history and its role in European history, about royal dynasties and famous residents of Budapest. And from the viewing platforms, you will enjoy breathtaking views and see the city from different angles.
What to expect
A corner of nature in the center of the metropolis
During a stop at Heroes' Square, you will see the sculptures of the ensemble and learn who they are dedicated to. We will walk through Városliget Park - a city grove with about 7,000 trees, including rare species. In the park, you will find the famous Széchenyi Thermal Bath: a complex of pools and baths with thermal water. And on the shore of one of the lakes stands the fairytale-like Vajdahunyad Castle - an eclectic building combining elements of 21 famous structures of Hungary.
The city from a bird's eye view
We will head to the center of Budapest and see the majestic Royal Palace - you will understand how its appearance has transformed since the 13th century. Here you will also find Matthias Church in the late Gothic style and the snowy-white Fisherman's Bastion. And from the lookout point on Gellért Hill, you will admire the panorama of the city, see the bridges connecting Buda, Pest, and Óbuda, and hear the story of their unification.
See it all at once
In addition to the sights you will see during stops on our tour, you will also encounter:
- the Parliament building - the longest building in Hungary, which took 17 years to build,
- the Opera House, which is one of the most beautiful theaters in the world,
- Andrássy Avenue - the main artery of the capital,
- Castle Hill - the place where Buda was founded,
- as well as the largest synagogue in Europe, the Hungarian National Gallery, the Holocaust Memorial, Gellért Spa, and other iconic places.
Organizational details
- The tour takes place on a comfortable local minibus such as Opel Vivaro, Ford Transit, or similar
- The tour is an overview, without visits to museums
- We will pick you up from your place of stay in Budapest and drop you off after the tour. You can end the tour in the center of Budapest if you wish to continue exploring on your own.
- The tour will be conducted by me or another guide from our team
- Meals are not included in the tour price
