About this experience
In 4 hours, you will not only learn but truly fall in love with the capital of Hungary! You will see the grandiose construction of late 19th century Pest, enjoy unique views from observation decks, and feel the atmosphere of the medieval city of Buda. You will hear the rustle of leaves in the parks, the ringing of bells, and the polished step of the changing of the guard, while I will tell you the most interesting facts about all the landmarks along the way.
What to Expect
History in a Convenient Format
The route is designed so that you can see all the places without which Budapest cannot be imagined. We will move around the city by car, making stops to walk around and get to know the city districts better. From my stories, you will learn how Budapest was created and changed over the centuries from the ancient town of Aquincum - the capital of the province of Pannonia of the Great Roman Empire - to the modern city.
The Heart of Pest and Medieval Buda
Budapest will meet you at the main Heroes' Square, whose architectural ensemble will reveal the history of Hungary. Along Andrassy Avenue, you will head to the grandiose Basilica of St. Stephen - the most beautiful temple of the 20th century. On the way, you will admire the pompous buildings of 19th century Pest, visit Varosliget Park, where you will see the Hunyadi Castle. Ride along the 'Champs-Elysees' of Budapest and stop at the Opera, which is one of the top 10 most beautiful theaters in the world. On the Danube embankment, you will feel the grandeur and beauty of the Parliament and touch the tragic story of the Holocaust at the 'Shoes on the Danube Bank' monument. In addition, we will go underground to see the first metro line on the European continent. Crossing the most beautiful bridge in Budapest, you will reach Buda: here in the program is the Buda Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion, another architectural masterpiece.
