About this experience
We offer you to take a break from the heritage of Byzantium and Constantinople and discover the melancholic Istanbul with its bourgeois notes. Its features are art deco and art nouveau-style houses, museums, and antique shops. You will visit the best art spots and photo locations of the Old City. See it through the eyes of celebrities and feel how the past comes alive.
What to expect
- Pera Palace Hotel - the place of espionage, lavish balls, and turning points for the Turkish Republic. Fans of detective novels will be interested to know that Agatha Christie worked on the novel 'Murder on the Orient Express' here.
- French Street with houses of unexpectedly bright colors, from pink to violet. Here you will immerse yourself in a whimsical mix of styles: Turkish and French music, elaborate iron grids, and modern sculptures.
- Çukurcuma - a district where antique shops, exquisite cafes, and historic buildings coexist.
- Museum of Innocence - a collection of exhibits intended to tell the tangled love story from the novel of the same name. You will learn how vintage items from ruins and flea markets helped the writer create images of the main characters.
- Cihangir - a neighborhood where famous directors, screenwriters, and other art figures reside. Here you will relax from the hustle and bustle of the 'big' Istanbul and understand why these places are so beloved by the local bohemia, expats, and creative youth.
Bonus: along the way, we will visit a couple of places that not even many locals know about. One of them is a 'living decoration,' an old house where series are often filmed. And the second is a secret spot where Turkish youth come to enjoy the views of beautiful and enticing Istanbul.
