About this experience
I invite you to a walk through the most interesting places of Istanbul, which will allow you to feel the atmosphere of the bustling metropolis and the enchanting tranquility of the old Istanbul districts.
What to Expect
- The walk will start on Istiklal Street, where we will visit the Church of St. Antoine and the oldest passages.
- We will see the first cinema of Istanbul and, turning into alleys, we will stroll through the district of Cukurcuma, filled with antique shops, famous for its historic hamams, some of which I will show you.
- Then we will head to the Cihangir district, where representatives of the bohemia and creative professions have been living for many years.
- We will visit a small but very picturesque green mosque. We will descend to the waterfront past the Topkhane Mosque and walk along the Dolmabahce Palace past the ancient walls of the Yildiz Park.
- Next awaits you a visit to the Rumeli Hisari fortress, as well as a walk through the fashionable district of Bebek and the area filled with unusual wooden buildings of the Ottoman Empire and fish restaurants of Arnavutkoy.
- Our journey will end in the favorite of tourists and locals Ortakoy. Its heart is the pier where pleasure boats dock, sailing along the strait (a boat trip is possible upon request). It is surrounded by a small but very striking square, staged according to all the rules of scenography: the forefront is splashed by the Bosphorus, the background is represented by restored old mansions and planes with chestnuts, and the role of the chorus in the depth of the stage is performed by the tables of street cafes where you can try the most popular street food of Istanbul waffles and kumpir (baked stuffed potato).
