Better than mountains are only mountains and wine!
About this experience
Adjara is not only the gentle azure waters of the Black Sea, but also the picturesque mountains of the Caucasus. In this journey, you will see their best corners - drive along a bubbling mountain river on a narrow serpentine, squeezed between a gorge and cliffs. You will visit authentic settlements and see three waterfalls. Everywhere you will be accompanied by clean mountain air, forest aromas, and soft clouds covering the mountain slopes. And lunch with wine will be a wonderful end to this unhurried day.
What to expect
Mountain village atmosphere
Throughout the excursion, you will visit three authentic villages. The first stop is the village of Mirveti, located in the Machakhela National Park. We will get here across an unusual narrow suspension bridge. The paths in the village of Mahuntseti will lead you to the extraordinary arched bridge of Queen Tamar. I will tell you about the features of its construction and history - neither nine centuries ago, nor earthquakes could destroy the bridge. And finally, you will find the high-mountain Merisi, preserving its pristine appearance.
Ruins of an ancient fortress
Amidst nature, we will definitely turn to the history of the region by visiting the fortress of Gvara from the 5-6 centuries. Its convenient strategic location allowed to guard the path to the Black Sea. You will explore the surviving elements of the fortress and enjoy the fabulous views of the valley, and I will tell you about the history of this citadel.
Three waterfalls
From the outskirts of Mirveti through a relic boxwood forest winds a pedestrian path - along it, you will come to the Mirveti waterfall, admire its waters surrounded by lush southern vegetation and trees covered with moss. In the village of Mahuntseti, you will be greeted by the eponymous 30-meter waterfall. Here, in a basin created in the rocks by nature itself, you can swim on a hot day, enjoying the play of the rainbow in the silvery waters. And the third waterfall you will see in the surroundings of the village of Merisi. In this high-mountain place, you will not meet tourists - only the roar of falling water and ancient mossy rocks.
Flavors of hospitable Adjara
I was born and raised in Batumi, so I will definitely share my love for Adjara with you: I will tell you about traditions, legends, and local flavors. Here, the tomato tastes like a tomato, fresh spicy greens are just picked from the garden, and there is soft homemade cheese on the table. At the end of the excursion, you will visit the owner of marani (winery), who will show you the vineyards and the cellar where the wine matures. And then a real Georgian feast awaits you!
Organizational details
- Transportation costs and water are included in the cost of the excursion.
- The feast is paid for separately (cost - 25 € per person).
- Upon request, the feast can be replaced with a picnic at the waterfall. Details to be clarified with the guide.

We are thrilled with the tour and getting to know Alexey 🤩 It's very interesting to learn about the history of Georgia in such a light, friendly atmosphere. We managed to visit many incredibly beautiful places, not even a light rain was a hindrance. Special admiration for the wineries and their own...

I really enjoyed the tour, everything was great and well organized. In 8 hours we managed to visit three waterfalls and a winery, and on two waterfalls we were completely alone, got a lot of amazing impressions, took plenty of beautiful photos.
