About this experience
Under Berlin lies a whole network of underground labyrinths - bunkers, bomb shelters, metro tunnels, sewers. The descent into this underground world attracts history and adrenaline enthusiasts. In an hour and a half, we will walk through the mysterious dungeons of Berlin, the bomb shelter of World War II, and the labyrinth of tunnels. I will tell you about the creation and purpose of these chilling catacombs, and you will personally touch the history of wartime Berlin, which will not leave you indifferent!
What to expect
Underneath an inconspicuous building lies the entrance to a bunker for civilians. The bunker is not as well-known as Hitler's bunker, but inside, the authentic atmosphere is preserved - you will see the bunker just as the peaceful residents of Berlin saw it, hiding from falling shells.
We will descend underground in the very center of the city and find ourselves several decades back in time. You will see cold unlit catacombs, hear frightening sounds, and walk in total darkness through long-forgotten tunnels. Here, you can vividly imagine the sound of the siren alerting the city's residents to the bombing, and how they, awakened in the deep night, run for shelter, as the massive door cuts them off from the outside world…
This is not a 'mystical' tour with ghosts, but the emotional storytelling can be haunting. I will explain why and how underground bunkers were built and why this one was built here; introduce you to a brief history of Germany in the XX century; talk about the daily life of Berlin residents during wartime and the peaceful residents who hid here. I will explain how the protective items functioned, why some bunkers needed phosphorescent walls, candles, and many other small details.
