On a walk through the old town of Kaleici, I will introduce you to the history of ancient Antalya and its authentic charm. You will see ancient mosques and minarets, learn about the restoration process and the lives of the locals. And then we will go admire the natural beauty of the region, discussing its flora and fauna.
What to Expect
Ancient Antalya
You will travel through epochs and civilizations. We will see the gates of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, ruins from the Byzantine period, ancient Ottoman houses, and mosques. The symbol and one of the oldest sanctuaries of the city - the Yivli Minaret. As you examine its texture, you will understand why it earned its name, and I will tell you about the symbolism of the steps of the spiral staircase. We will remember the era of the Seljuks, see the 'Truncated Minaret', and talk about the fire of 1846, restorations, and the modern life of the locals.
Picturesque Postcards
Next, we will head to the port of Antalya - to enjoy panoramic views of the sea and the snow-white yachts at the marina. And then we will drive to the impressive Lower Duden Waterfall - one of Antalya's wonders.
