What to Expect
Almaty - it's mountains
First, you will head to the mountain cluster "Medeo". On the cable car, you will climb to an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level to enjoy unique landscapes. You will learn how "Medeo" got its name and why people sometimes get lost in the mountains near Almaty. Then you will return to the city.
Almaty - it's interesting places and delicious cuisine
Next, you will take a walk around the city. You will see the opera and ballet theater, walk along Panfilov pedestrian street, look at the Ascension Cathedral, visit the market. You will see Almaty Arbat, the Palace of the Republic, the Independence Monument, the Rahat confectionery factory. The guide will explain why wooden buildings are not popular in Almaty and why some believe that the feat of the 28 Panfilovites never happened. Then you will have lunch at a national restaurant - try beshbarmak, kazy, and other Kazakh dishes.
