About this experience
The ancient city of Muang Boran is one of the largest outdoor museums in the world. By visiting it, you will see the whole of Thailand in miniature, get acquainted with the unique Thai culture, and explore the key attractions of this place accompanied by a person who has traveled the entire country.
What to Expect
Discovering Thai Culture
You will spend a whole day in a tropical garden, leisurely exploring all the interesting, beautiful, and significant attractions of Thailand. The Muang Boran museum city is located on the outskirts of Bangkok, occupying an impressive area of about 80 acres. Here, Thais have erected copies of the most famous cult structures of the kingdom—there are already over 100 of them, and construction is ongoing. These include currently functioning temples in the country, as well as other structures that were destroyed by time and wars, and later reconstructed based on ancient chronicles and frescoes. There are also 'mythical structures' in the museum that never existed in reality—they are inspired by the architects' imagination.
Museum Oddities
Many of the prototypes of objects in Muang Boran I have seen with my own eyes, so I have plenty to share with you. Palaces and monasteries, temples and sculptural compositions, religious buildings and ruins of ancient cities—all of this will appear before you in one place. The park's territory replicates the contours of Thailand on the world map, and all the exhibits in the museum city are arranged according to their real geographical locations. During a stroll through Muang Boran, you will immerse yourself in the culture of the whole country and see unbelievable things: the Burmese-demolished coronation hall in Ayutthaya, now a pile of bricks, a thematic village showcasing the works of local artisans, work tools, household items, and much more.
