What to Expect
A Journey to Childhood – Unusual Children's Railway
Our excursion will start at the station, where we will buy a train ticket. The cashier will be no more than 18 years old, but don't be surprised: this railway is a completely children's territory! On the way, I will tell you how the longest children's railway in the world appeared in Budapest. I will share interesting facts about it: how long it has existed, what professions children master here, and how they manage to cope with the challenging work. You will enjoy a safe trip, admiring the views from the train window.
Cable Car and Elizabeth Lookout Tower
You will meet another atypical public transport: the Libego Cable Car will take us to the Buda Mount Janos. I will explain when this aerial road appeared and guide you to the top of the mountain via the spiral staircase. We will climb to the highest point of Budapest and talk about the stages of tower construction. You will understand why it was named 'Elizabeth' and how stones for construction were lifted to the mountaintop. Afterwards, we will have coffee and discuss Hungarian life and the capital's residents. Besides, you will admire the stunning views of Budapest, which open here at 360 degrees.
