About this experience
Khosrov Reserve in southern Armenia is a treasure trove for trekking enthusiasts. Accompanied by a professional instructor-guide, you will hike 17 km with an elevation gain of 500 m. You will enjoy picturesque landscapes and breathe fresh air. The main highlights on the route will be the Garni Gorge with the 'stone symphony' and two waterfalls: Asthik and Vahagni.
What to expect
Asthik and Vahagni Waterfalls
We will walk to the Asthik and Vahagni waterfalls. Located just a few hundred meters apart, they differ greatly in spirit. The first one cascades down from a sheer cliff and crashes into flat stones at the bottom. The second one gently flows down stone steps into a clear pool at the base. You will admire their beauty and hear about the gods they are dedicated to.
Garni Gorge
Our second destination will be the picturesque Garni Gorge, home to the famous 'stone symphony'. This cluster of basalt columns with perfectly regular hexagonal sections resembles a giant organ. At some points, their height reaches 300 meters: just imagine this scale! You will learn about the formation of this natural treasure and take incredible photos.
