What to Expect
Fascinating Chronicles of Turkish Winemaking
You will get acquainted with local varieties and international brands. Learn how Antalya's climate influences the characteristics of local wines and personally taste the same wine that St. Nicholas used for communion. You will be captivated by the stories of ancient Lycia and winemaking in Turkey, which has survived both prosperity and persecution. We will also discuss the revival of indigenous vines and modern viticulture in Antalya.
Turkey in a Glass
The program is coordinated with the owner of the wine shop where the tasting will take place. He gladly interacts with guests. You will taste 5 varieties of Turkish wines, discovering the taste and aromatic features of each. I will also guide you on how to navigate among the wine shelves of local stores and the difficult-to-pronounce names of Turkish wines. If you wish, you can purchase a bottle (or several) at the wine shop.
