About this experience
This is the most popular excursion among travelers who have one day to get to know the island. You will visit several diverse locations and discover the uniqueness of the southernmost and youngest prefecture of Japan. In our program: a park of traditional Okinawan crafts and history, oceanic landscapes and ancient shrines, the royal palace and colorful streets of the island's capital.
What to expect
In the Okinawa World themed park, you will see installations of Okinawan life and crafts. Gain a vivid understanding of Okinawa, its historical development, and its role in Japan. You will also understand what makes this region unique.
In the south of the island, you will admire the colors of the ocean, whose shades change due to tides, ebb and flow, and the variety of the seabed. Moreover, unique sacred places are located here, and I will tell you about their significance and legends during the excursion.
We will visit the most picturesque cape of Okinawa and come face to face with the sacred island, best known for its religious ceremonies performed for the Ryukyu Kingdom.
We will head to the walls of the imperial palace and stroll in the palace park. And if time permits (in case of a late start, we may not make it before closing), we will visit a UNESCO-listed mausoleum complex and a dyeing craft workshop.
Then we will return to the city center and walk along the most vibrant and colorful street, where various household items, souvenirs, and restaurants with national cuisine are represented.
