About this experience
During the day trip to Bogota, you will get a comprehensive and vivid idea of this amazing city. I will introduce you to the sights and history of the capital. We will recall the legend of El Dorado and distinguish between myth and reality. I will also show you charming spots hidden behind modern high-rises and tell you about the life of contemporary Colombians.
What to expect
- The tour will start with a visit to the viewpoint on Monserrate Mountain or Guadalupe Hill. You will take a cable car ride and see the surroundings from the most impressive perspective
- Then we will walk through the colorful historical district of La Candelaria, where you will discover the city's colonial architecture
- We will visit a square named after Simon Bolivar, the national hero of several Latin American countries, including modern Colombia
- You will see the magnificent Presidential Palace and the Cathedral
- I will also suggest a visit to the Botero Museum, where you will immerse yourself in the world of original proportions and humor, unusual paintings, and sculptures that have become an integral part of Colombia's cultural heritage
- Catholic basilicas and national parks... all these places will allow you to feel the atmosphere of the city of conquerors, founded on the site of the Chibcha-Muisca settlement. Legends of the wealth of this tribe have been the cause of numerous expeditions to the Golden City of El Dorado
- We will end the tour at the Gold Museum, home to the world's largest collection of golden artifacts
During the day, we will have lunch in one of the city's best restaurants. I will share safety recommendations in Colombia with you, as well as the most interesting locations for further exploration.
Salt Cathedral (additional location)
You can also include a unique cathedral in the town of Zipaquira (50 km from Bogota) in the program. You will embark on a fascinating journey through an amazing labyrinth full of mysteries and mystique. Experience the unique atmosphere of the temple, completely carved out of salt. Explore its captivating sculptures, arches, and even altars, all created from pure salt crystals. Learn the secrets and stories hidden behind the intricate patterns of the structure.
